Silicon Craft Technology, an innovative designer and supplier in the RFID & NFC industry, has launched a new interactive poster application based on a passive NFC transponder IC with UART and 8 programmable GPIO interface. This product is targeted at the advertising and physical media market.
“Interactive Poster” is a new and easy-to-use application for electronic media content. It is designed for multiple and dynamic advertising content. Users can extract data simply by touching it with their NFC devices, downloading different vouchers and coupons, or connecting via URL and social media. Moreover, this application is suitable not only for “Interactive Poster” usage but is also appropriate for embedding in magazines, billboards, or other physical media. Traditionally, a general “smart poster” communicates with NFC-enabled devices when it is placed within a short range, but it receives only single content and also lacks interactive components.
The SIC4310, NFC enabler is the essential design reference for this application. It is a dual-interface ISO14443A transponder IC, interfacing with both RF and UART. This transponder IC provides 8 programmable GPIOs, is fully passive, and combines all functional features that can be accessed by NFC/RFID devices and can connect with an external UART device.
Additionally, the SIC4310 creates an NFC Bridge for different and various application requirements, such as embedded systems, medical and fitness devices, and others usages including the following:
• NFC bridge for home appliances
• Firmware upgrade via NFC
• Metering/vending machines
• Smart battery-less E-paper labels
• Smart toys
• Self-testing NFC-powered sensor patches (e.g. glucose)
