As credit card penetration in Vietnam is low, online payment for e-commerce is a rarity in the country, with most consumers preferring to shop in physical stores, or to pay via cash-on-delivery. However, this means that it is difficult or rarely possible for consumers to make purchases on international websites. Taking this into account, Vietin Bank, one of the two largest commercial banks in Vietnam, is launching a virtual prepaid card which enables consumers and businesses in Vietnam to make secure online purchases from any website that accepts Visa.
The ‘E-Fast on Visa Prepaid Card' is a one-time-load virtual card that can be used to make secure purchases via international websites. Vietin Bank has partnered with Yalamanchili, integrating its payment processing platform into its existing infrastructure.
