NFC Technology to Be Integrated into Lenovo Tablets By End of 2013

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablet

NFC payment technology shall be integrated into Lenovo tablets before the year is out, enabling users to make purchases by merely tapping their card on their device.

Speaking to Engadget, a Lenovo representative confirmed that Lenovo's upcoming range of ThinkPad tablets and Ultrabooks for 2013 will make use of the contactless payment system. Although, currently, partnerships are still in the works for a service provider.

The inclusion of NFC payment technologies into their ThinkPad tablets and Ultrabooks means that users would be able to make purchases with incredible ease, meaning that fussing around entering payment details in  – or worrying about making accidental purchases on online stores, could well be a thing of the past.

While NFC technology is widespread in most mobile phones, it's not widespread in tablet and laptops just yet, however Lenovo could be the first to lead the charge.

Do you think expanding NFC technology to tablets and laptops is a smart idea?
