Visa’s annual results find e-commerce and mobile to be biggest growth drivers.

E-commerce now represents one quarter of Visa's customers total spend.


"Online spending on Visa cards in Europe topped €200 billion (£166bn) for the first time and now accounts for more than 20% of Visa Europe's processed business."

"E-commerce has become the fastest growing part of our business and is set to grow further as the market continues to mature," said Peter Ayliffe, chief executive of Visa Europe.


“We also engage actively across the retail community – helping many of the largest and most influential European merchants to appreciate the business benefits of new payment solutions and to plan for their implementation.  ”
