Australian consumers will be treated to some of the most innovative technology in retail as Woolworths launches it's first virtual shopping wall in Sydney. As reported in Inside Retail today the technology will be on trial in Sydney for the next 10 day's.
According to Woolworths director of supermarkets, Tjeerd Jegen, "The virtual supermarket wall is just one idea we are working on to make our customers’ lives easier,” “Sydney commuters going through Town Hall station will be the first in Australia to experience the cutting edge of supermarket innovation.”
Woolworths is merging it's smarthphone app with virtual walls to engage with the customer. Embracing online shopping to build sales instead of fearing the steady march of technology in retail.
